Saint Croix and Pryconsa have handed over the Blua Valdebebas Hospital to Sanitas, the benchmark for hospitals of the future.
Pryconsa has handed over the new Hospital Blua Sanitas Valdebebas, Saint Croix’s first hospital project.
This innovative hospital centre, ‘the most modern in Europe’ has begun to receive its first patients, positioning itself as a national reference in digital, sustainable and people-centred healthcare.
Promoted by Saint Croix HI, the Pryconsa Group’s Socimi, this hospital is a milestone in the transformation of the healthcare model in Spain, offering more than 30,000 square metres of state-of-the-art facilities and the most advanced portfolio of services for the diagnosis and treatment of all types of pathologies.
New generation healthcare
Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital incorporates a hybrid care model that combines face-to-face care with state-of-the-art digital capabilities. From the use of remote monitoring, artificial intelligence and clinical big data, to the personalisation of treatments through genomic medicine, the new centre redefines how health is cared for in the 21st century.
In addition to its innovative approach, the hospital has pioneering programmes such as home chemotherapy, which allow patients to maintain their quality of life while receiving specialised medical care.
Facilities at the service of well-being
The centre, now fully operational, has:
- 98 single rooms (23 for mental health).
- 46 outpatient clinics and 8 state-of-the-art operating theatres, including robotic surgery.
- 15 ICU beds, both for adults and paediatric population.
- Dental Centre, Advanced Rehabilitation Institute and Emergency Room with 16 operational boxes.
- Specialised units for Phase I Clinical Trials and professional healthcare training.
In addition, the hospital is home to two centres of excellence:
The Institute of Advanced Oncology, with precision molecular diagnostics and state-of-the-art radiotherapy treatment.
The Mental Health Institute, with its own hospital unit and comprehensive care for psychological and psychiatric disorders.
Committed to the environment: 100% sustainable hospital
The Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital has been designed and built under criteria of sustainability and energy efficiency, with 100% renewable electricity consumption and emission reduction systems that reinforce Sanitas’ commitment to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
The building has:
335 parking spaces, including 34 electric charging points.
Bicycle parking and active mobility plans.
Programmes to minimise acoustic, lighting and environmental impact throughout the life of the centre.
Humanisation through design
This hospital cares not only for physical health, but also for the patient experience. Everything in it has been designed to offer a friendly environment: natural light, clear signage, universal accessibility, privacy in the common areas and personalised care that eliminates barriers between the professional and the patient.
The humanised care model implemented follows the principles that Sanitas has already successfully applied in its reference centres, now enhanced thanks to the total integration in the architecture and flows of the new building.
With the opening of the Blua Sanitas Valdebebas Hospital, Sanitas and Pryconsa consolidate a pioneering project in which excellent care, digitalisation, sustainability and innovation converge, demonstrating that the future of healthcare is already the present.
